Benito Del Toro

Executive Director

Benito started his career in senior care working with seniors diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease in 2006. In 2007, he was promoted to executive director in training and was assigned his first community as an executive director in Georgia and soon relocated to Texas, Tennessee, Kentucky and California. In 2015, he became a Regional Director of Operations of an Assisted Living Company located in North Carolina assigned to 14 communities throughout Southern California. Benito missed the interactions between residents, staff and family members and decided to return to a community as an Executive Director. “As a child, I always wanted to be in law enforcement to protect and serve. Little did I know that I was destine to protect and serve, in a different way.” Benito enjoys physical training and spending time with his daughter.

Ignacio Lopez III

Generations Program Director

Ignacio has been in the assisted living industry for over 12 years with his main focus being Dementia Care. He is a Certified Medical Assistant, EKG Technician a Certified Dementia Practitioner as well as a licensed RCFE Administrator. He believes that in order to have success in this industry, one must learn to listen and follow through on promises. For fun, Ignacio likes to play pool (mostly 9 ball) and is an avid bowler. He enjoys playing chess, checkers and an occasional game of mahjong. Board games can be fun as well as card games; Any one up for a game of King’s in the corner? Ignacia enjoy musicals and absolutely loves the Opera. He also likes keeping up with current events and politics.

Asata Hammill, RN

Resident Care Director

Asata Hamill was born in Stockton, California and currently resides in San Francisco. Asata has been a nurse for seven years, beginning her healthcare journey at 16 years old when she chose to volunteer at a local skilled nursing facility as the “bingo girl.” Her passion for senior care and service was ignited and fueled her desire to pursue nursing as a career. Throughout her journey as a nurse, she has held positions in multiple disciplines ranging from skilled nursing facility charge nurse, mental health outpatient clinic nurse, acute care case manager, home health care nurse, and her current role as Resident Care Director at Sagebrook Senior Living at San Francisco.

In addition to her position within the Sagebrook community, Asata currently attends Wilkes University, where she is pursuing her Masters in Nursing with a minor in nursing management. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, snowboarding, and exploring the world with her husband. Her daily inspiration is learning from each and every resident she encounters, to ensure she provides top tier service and personalized care to all.

Amelia Elgin

Vibrant Life Director

Amelia is the Vibrant Life Director here at Sagebrook Senior Living at San Francisco. She loves her job in the community because she gets to have the best of both worlds working with residents and connecting them with the wonderful San Francisco community.

Before relocating to San Francisco, Amelia attended the University of Nevada Reno where she earned degrees in Community Health Sciences and Communication studies. During her time there, she also had the opportunity to work on multiple health campaigns, developing events to promote wellness in the Reno community that helped prepare her for the work she is doing as a VLD.

In her spare time, Amelia enjoys getting outside preferably with a friend’s dog, eating Thai food, or checking out the latest exhibit at the museum of modern art. All in all, she loves making each day new and exciting and can’t wait to start doing exactly that for all her residents!

Daniel Frias Vidal

Director of Sales & Marketing

Daniel is a local boy, born and raised in San Francisco. He was born in San Francisco General Hospital and raised in the Mission District. Having gone to public schools in San Francisco all his life, he decided to venture to the East Coast to experience things on that side of the country. After completing a Bachelor’s Degree from Boston University, he returned home.

In his spare time, he volunteers with various community projects:

  • Director of Promotions and Publicity of the Purse Project (local San Francisco non-profit)
  • Co-chair member of the Latino Community Partnership (local collaborative sponsored by the Department of Adult and Aging Services)
  • Member of LAM (Latin American Media)
His favorite part about working with Sagebrook Senior Living at San Francisco is working with seniors to change their life and find a solution for them.

James Alvarez

Building Service Director

James Alvarez is a native from San Francisco. He’s been in the business since 2003 when he started working as a tile installer for a grout company. From that position, he was promoted and became a supervisor handling estimates for tile and granite installation and restoration of old tile and granite. In 2009, he moved on to become a foreman for Pacific Steel in Berkeley where he handled the cleaning and finishing department, managing over 150 employees. After having gained so much experience, he decided to start his own business. James Repairs began in 2015 where he was based out of the East Bay. In February 2017, a sister community recommended Sagebrook to contact James to get remodeling work done on the building. Since then, James was offered the position as Building Service Director and has been here ever since!

James is happily married with a wife and two lovely children. He enjoys going with his family to church and church related events. Currently, he’s enrolled in a VETI Course in order to become a licensed minister. His favorite pastime is watching football and he’s a big 49ers fan!

Steven Catindig

Culinary Services Director

Steven was born in San Francisco but grew up in the Philippines. He has been in the food industry for over 12 years but has not “worked” a single day in his life since he’s been serving seniors. He does all that it takes to provide the best-tasting food and amazing service for our residents and guests. Steven’s motto always has been “if you nourish your body you nourish your mind.” A few things that he enjoys to do for fun include fixing cars, exercising, hiking and surfing. You will always see Steven smiling when he’s working, simply because he loves what he does.

Adeline Sayson

Business Office Director

Adeline is the Business Office Director here at the Sagebrook in San Francisco. Prior to her current position, she has worked as an Administrative Assistant for 3 years. But one of her more fulfilling positions that relates to her current position is working as Nursing Assistant for 5 years. She is very understanding and compassionate and carries these traits to her position. She is fully committed in her position and always has an open ear to assist you. Her hobbies consist of outdoor activities, going to the gym, traveling, martial arts and riding motorcycles. Interesting facts about her is that she migrated to the United States 10 years ago and started working right away to build a future. She has been working hard to build her career and doing so as a single mother. “Success comes with a lot of hard work, some luck, and a good amount of prayer.”
